September 12, 2015 at 7:05 AM | Flushing Meadows, N.Y. – It’s said that all good things must come to pass.Yesterday for Team Serena Williams, it came to an end in the semifinal match against Roberta Vinci 6-2, 4-6, 4-6. The game belonged to Vinci with her excellent return shots and her consistent backhand slice that kept Serena on the defensive.

This loss marks the end of a streak of 33 match wins for Williams without a loss – an incredible record.I have been honored for seven years to work with this great champion. After the match, I told Serena that she is the greatest champion that I have worked with in my career. And, based on my work with over 3,000 pro athletes, like Ozzie Smith, Morten Andersen, Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones Jr. – to name a few – that’s a great recommendation.

Serena fought all the way to the end. It’s time to lick the wounds and move on to the next battle – the mark of a great warrior. The story continues…
