Toning the Arms for Swim Suit Season

With the summer upon us, many women feel uncomfortable wearing a sleeveless dress or swim suit due to a lack of toning in the arms – especially the back of the arms known as the triceps. One of the best all-around arm exercises involves overhead arm rotations.

Arm Rotations:

Sit in a chair with the back supported or stand with the knees slightly bent – with legs hip-width apart. Hold a very light dumbbell (1 to 2 lbs.) in both hands at eye level – directly in front of your chest – with elbows resting on either side of your chest. While keeping both elbows bent, slowly circle the dumbbell around and over your head to your right. Repeat 5 times, pause, then rotate 5 times to the left – keeping your head stationary.
