The Diamond Push-up: Triceps, Back of Arms, and Core

Diamond Push-Up Sequence:
Create a diamond with your hands by placing your first fingers and thumbs in contact. Next, place your hands on the ground under your chest with your body in a straight line – elevated plank – from your head to your heels.
With your hands in the diamond, lower your chest down to come in close proximity to your hands. Then press back up – making sure to engage your entire core by keeping your head in line with your spine, as you lower and press back up. Make sure to prevent your butt from arching up in the air or your hips sag, as you move. Keeping the elbows in will isolate your triceps.

Note: The Close-Grip Push-Up is an alternative to help you to progress to the Diamond. As with most push-ups, you can also start with a milder version by keeping your knees bent on the ground

Remember, you should always consult your physician before beginning any exercise, diet, or nutritional supplementation program.
