Start managing your health

Today I had my yearly physical, which I tie to my birthday. The physical I receive at 60 is different from that given to a male in his 2s or 30s. For instance, we know now that there are people with a normal calculated LDL Cholesterol (bad cholesterol) level, who may still be at risk for cardiovascular disease due to a high LDL-P (particle number), or an imbalance of the good HDL- C cholesterol.

With so many variables to consider based on the patient’s age, gender, medical history, activity level, and body fat accumulation, among many others, it is no wonder that the general public can become confused as to what options are available, affordable, covered by insurance, and medically sound.

Several years ago, I wrote Maximum Energy For Life, in which I outlined a game plan to take ownership of your health. I am currently working on an update to this book, which will be completed by the end of March, 2011. Along the way I will give you concepts to consider that will help you start managing your health, before it starts to manage you.

Stay tuned!
