Quick step your fitness with the Quick Step Drill

Cardio fitness can be achieved quite well in as a little as a 5-yard straight line. It’s all about the step count – along with proper upper and lower body running mechanics. The Quick Step Drill – developed by former Baton Rouge speed coach Boots Garland – can accomplish this cardio-fit goal.

Quick Step:

Layout out a 5-yard distance. Attempt to achieve 25-foot strikes – using proper running mechanics such at the heel come in close contact with the buttocks and the knees elevate to a parallel position to the ground. Arm mechanics will resemble trying to put your nose in your back pocket with each alternating arm movement.
Advance to 50, 75, and even 100 steps, as your fitness improves.

Remember, you should always consult your physician before beginning any exercise, diet, or nutritional supplementation program.
