How vitamin C can help you reduce stress

People whose diets are rich in vitamin C may have a lower risk of strokes, according to a recent study in the Netherlands. The study found that people with the lowest amount of vitamin C in their diets were 30% more likely to have a stroke than those with the highest amount of it. This is believed to be due to the fact that vitamin C is an antioxidant that may protect cells from oxidative stress, which plays a role in stroke. Vitamin C is also believed to enhance endothelial function, which inhibits artery clogging and lowers blood pressure. Good sources of vitamin C are citrus fruits, strawberries, red and green peppers, broccoli, brussels sprouts, and other fruits and vegetables. Vitamin C is also available in supplement form, but dont overdo it. The recommended daily allowance for vitamin C is 60 milligrams a day and the body will expel any excesses it doesnt need.
